Description
Item description: Pre-dating Dinky Toys Jensen FF number 188, was the Italian Politoy’s Art.573 ‘Jensen Coupe Vignale’. This is a first issue metallic red example. The metallic red model complete with the Politoy racing striped decal to the bonnet bulge. The model is complete with its original cardboard and clear plastic box. Inspection stamp retained to back of the box. Although simply entitled the ‘Jensen Coupe Vignale’, the car the model was based on was actually the Jensen FF.
Condition report: Excellent condition. Box showing signs of slight use, and typical creasing to the clear plastic.
Background to Politoy: This small Italian model making company started in 1960, manufacturing plastic toy vehicles. In 1965 they launched a more expensive range of die-cast model vehicles. The company went out of business in the 1970s. Art.573 – Jensen Coupe Vignale, was brought out in 1967.
