An extensively and well restored example of the Jensen interceptor MK.III in its original factory specification of silver grey with black trim. Total documented expenditure since 2004 stands at £81,008.91, anchored by a comprehensive bare-metal restoration between 2004 and 2006 with Jensen specialist Richard Appleyard. Costing £46,431.99 across twelve dated invoices, the restoration was completed at 42,904 miles — a mere 1,700 miles ago. The shell was stripped and renewed with new steel throughout, resprayed in its original silver grey and finished with a new vinyl roof, alongside a complete wiring loom and a refresh of most ancillary systems. Thereafter it was preserved and admired rather than driven — covering under 100 miles before Avantgarde further recommissioning and a sale in 2014 at 42,998 miles.

The most significant chapter relating to this car, is the most recent. Under its current keeper, a £27,243 engine rebuild and mechanical overhaul was carried out by Pristine Classic Cars across 2025—26, following a full differential rebuild by AJS Engineering in 2024. The 7.2 V8 was fully stripped, rebored and rebuilt with two new Edelbrock aluminium cylinder heads; an uprated alloy radiator with twin electric fans was fitted; the brakes were renewed and the suspension refreshed; a full exhaust system was custom built and fitted, and the factory air conditioning was overhauled, re-sealed and recharged. A voluntary MOT was carried out in June 2026, with no advisories to note.

The car was first registered on 4 August 1972 to Lionel Newman Ltd of Soho, the car retains its original Jensen Motors guarantee registration card and 1972—73 factory correspondence. Matching-numbers and factory specification have been confirmed by the official Statement of Origin issued by Martin Robey Sales Ltd, custodians of the Jensen records. Large history file included within the sale.
