Background to Sex Pistols: The punk rock band, Sex Pistols, formed in London in 1975. Although they initially lasted just two and a half years and produced only four singles and one studio album, Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols, they are considered one of the most influential acts in the history of popular music. Certainly it is accepted that the Sex Pistols initiated the punk movement in the United Kingdom, and inspired many later punk rock, heavy metal and alternative rock musicians.

Special notes: This was a merchandising poster for record shop windows. However, in the 1970s, many shops owners were not comfortable putting this up in the window, and had it up inside the shop instead. Extremely rare poster. Undoubtedly a piece of ‘cutting edge’ cool. A great talking point, framed up and on display in the kitchen.

Provenance: Originally from Barnard’s Record Shop, Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
