ROLEX 1959 SET REF 6605 CHRONOMETER DOCUMENTS

Description

Item description: Complete set of Rolex chronometer documents for a ref 6605 Datejust from 1959, which was sold in 1960. The document set includes the following:

1-Bureaux Suisses Chronometer Watch rate Certificate. The large certificate is dated between November & December 1959, and over this period of extensive testing, the timepiece with movement number ‘755559’ was declared as a piece having achieved particularly good results. An addition Rolex certificate is attached at the base, stating that the chronometer has been thoroughly checked in the Rolex workshop, and that the performance of the watch was in accordance with this certificate. The Rolex attached certificate is dated 6 Mai 1960.

2-Rolex Chronometer Certificate. This certificate states that the watch in question has been submitted by them to the Institute for Official Time Keeping Tests, and has been awarded a certificate. Facsimile signature of H.Wilsdorf.

3-Rolex Superlative Chronometer Guarantee. The ornate certificate dated 14.9.1960, and was issued when the watch was sold in the UK.

4-Rolex Overall Guarantee with hand ink written movement / case numbers, along with the number for the Bureaux Suisse certificate.

Condition report: Storage age only.

Special notes: Just a few examples of watches from various models were sent into the Bureaux Suisse for certification. A rare and interesting group of documents.
