HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:  127/248 was purchased by the Jensen distributors, Charles Follett, as a stock car for their showrooms. Mr Richard Peskin a young director of the high profile development company, Basil & Howard Samuel, purchased 127/248 from Charles Follett. Amazingly, he purchased the car purely based on its colour, which matched his (horse) racing colours. Peskin kept 127/248 until 1978. At the beginning of the 1980s, 127/248 was acquired by Ulric Woodhams, and remains under his ownership to date. Throughout the 1980s, and 1990s, 127/248 was a well known participant in the yearly Jensen Owners’ Club concours, often taking first place.

CAR ARCHEOLOGY: At the point of acquisition, 127/248 remained on its original cassis paint from the factory. 127/248 had survived through to the start of the 1980s in generally good condition, but some rust blisters were evident on the lower panels, and the car had some accident damage to the front passenger side. Embarking on an immediate body restoration, Woodhams managed to retain all the original panelwork, and had the car resprayed in a gunmetal grey. The leather trim remained in good condition, and still remains in the car. The entire carpet set within the car is original, apart from the two front carpets (the original front carpets survive and have been archived.

In 2015, a decision was made to have a sympathetic restoration of 127/248 undertaken. During the process, 127/248 would be resprayed back to its original colour of cassis. The restoration of 127/248 was completed in May 2016.
