COMMENTS: Early specification MK.II Jensen FF. Painted from factory in Mango, one of just three Jensen FF cars painted in this colour. The mango colour was specifically formulated by the first owner, Ron Clover. He had no knowledge that the factory liked the colour and decided to add it to their range.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND: 127/225 was sold to Mr R.V. Clover, the Managing Director of Clover Brown Engineering, located in Stratford, London E.15. The car was purchased from Charles Follett, Mayfair, and was collected on 12th March 1970. Acquired by The Jensen FF Museum in 2009.
CAR ARCHEOLOGY: Sympathetic restoration undertaken on behalf of the Museum between 2010 and 2014, work included spectrographing an original Jensen Motors colour chip for Mango and repainting 127/225 back to its correct colour shade. During restoration work, much original mango paint was found in many places on the car, including beneath the underseal layer within the rear wheel arches. The original paint has been left insitu. Leather interior factory original to 1970. Carpet remaining original apart from the two front carpets.
STATUS: The Jensen Museum collection.
